In mobile advertising, creative fatigue comes fast. Blinkist turned to AdQuantum Design to break the cycle — bringing fresh ideas, the right formats, and standout concepts competitors hadn’t yet explored.

Our Approach

To meet Blinkist’s request, we built a multi-layered creative process that balanced proven best practices with bold experimentation.

Gathering Ideas
  • Product research: exploring the app as real users to highlight unique benefits and pain points.
  • Users’ analysis & motivation: uncovering what truly drives people through forums, communities, and social media conversations.
  • Competitor analysis: spotting overused tactics and identifying gaps for fresh opportunities.
  • Cross-project learnings: applying successful insights from other verticals (lifestyle, astrology, health & fitness) to the book industry.

Concept Generation & Selection

We generated more ideas than required, then filtered them by clarity, emotional hook and storytelling strength. The goal: prepare a diverse testing pool of angles and emotions.

Production

Our designers, producers, and motion team collaborated closely to shape ideas into real creatives. The process stayed flexible — small tweaks often transformed good ideas into top performers.

Ongoing Sync with the Client

We worked hand-in-hand with Blinkist at every stage. Their team set the boundaries and shared valuable input, while giving us freedom to experiment. This created a partnership where feedback was quickly integrated, keeping creatives both on-brand and performance-driven.

Key Differentiator: Investment in High-Quality Creatives

Instead of producing a large volume of low-cost ads, we worked with Blinkist to invest in fewer, higher-quality creatives.

  • Together, we developed a 2D/3D-style hybrid creative.
  • It required a bigger budget and more resources than usual, but it paid off.
  • The creative not only performed exceptionally well — Blinkist still uses it today, proving that quality is more cost-efficient in the long run than low-budget ads that quickly burn out.
